I am an organic chemist who received a Ph.D. from the Department of Chemistry at Mississippi State University. My research focuses on designing new catalysts for transition metals, particularly N-heterocyclic carbenes and pincer complexes. I specialize in catalysts for cross-coupling reactions to form new C-C and C-N bonds and developing new methodologies for synthesizing organic compounds and small molecules. The research at the Xie lab is very interesting to me as it allows me to apply my background in organic synthesis to synthesize compounds for bioimaging purposes. This is a great opportunity for me to learn new skills in the field of biological science, improve research results, and gain a better understanding of disease mechanisms and strategies for cancer treatment.
